The National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme (NICAS) is a UK wide scheme designed to promote climbing development and accredit individual achievement on artificial climbing structures. It can be used as a starting point for people wishing to take up climbing and mountaineering. It is open to all candidates aged 7 and upwards.

The Scheme comprises five levels of award  and takes a minimum of 100 hours to complete in its entirety.

NB: We at the Boardroom are always developing our sessions to suit your children as perfectly as possible. Starting  September 2016 we are making some changes to how our NICAS courses are running. The main change is moving away from separating children based on NICAS level and instead placing them into age groups. This has a number of benefits:

•    Easier, simpler booking process
•    More access to age appropriate climbing and learning resources
•    Greater access to climbing partners who are the same size which makes belaying safer.

Run in 6 week blocks during term time, Beginners Climbing Club is 1 hr, all others are 1½ hrs long.

Also top up classes during school holidays.
